Connecting to Blacksky

Sky.app can switch from the default Bluesky AppView to Blacksky so you can browse and sign in without leaving the app.

Switch AppView

Open the Sky.app menu in macOS and choose SkySwitch AppView....

Open the Sky.app menu and choose Switch AppView....

In the dialog, choose Blacksky (blacksky.community) and click OK.

Select Blacksky (blacksky.community) in the AppView picker.

Sky.app will ask you to confirm the change before it reloads into the Blacksky community view.

Confirm that you want to switch the AppView to Blacksky.

Sign In

After the switch, Sky.app reloads against Blacksky. If you are not signed in yet, use the Sign in button in the lower-right corner.

Enter your Bluesky handle or account identifier, then continue to the password step.

Enter your Bluesky handle on the Blacksky sign-in screen.

Enter your password and make sure the login flow is happening on the blacksky.community domain before continuing.

Enter your password only after verifying the blacksky.community sign-in page.

Authorize Access

Blacksky will ask for permission to access your account. Review the requested permissions and click Authorize if you want to continue.

Review the Blacksky authorization request and click Authorize.

Once authorization succeeds, Sky.app returns to the Blacksky timeline and you are signed in.

Switch Back Later

To return to the default Bluesky AppView later, use the same SkySwitch AppView... menu item and choose the default Bluesky entry.
